Opo The Dolphin

This 3D Puzzle was made in Honor Opo the Dolphin in New Zealand.
She was a wonderfully loving and intelligent Dolphin who loved and trusted people!

Opo was a bottlenose Dolphin who became famous throughout New
Zealand during the summer of 1955-1956 for playing with the
children of the small town of Opononi on the Hokianga harbour.
Opo was a wild dolphin who started following fishing boats around
Opononi after her mother had been killed and would swim daily in
the bay close to town. Unlike the majority of Dolphins, she had
no qualms about human company and would perform stunts for locals,
play with objects like beach balls and bottles and allow children
to swim alongside her and make contact. The Dolphin became a local
celebrity and news of her soon spread and visitors throughout the
country came to watch her. On March 8th, 1956 official protection
for Opo was made law but a day later she was found dead,
accidentally killed by fishermen fishing with gelignite. Her death
was reported nationwide, and she was buried with full Maori honors
in a special plot next to the town hall.
Collect Opo the Beautiful and Legendary Dolphin today and remember
her charm and gentleness as we do. 🙂
